If you’ve visited the blog before, then you know I’m a fan of Game of Thrones. I’ve made a few recipes loosely based on and inspired the series in preparation for the new season. Now that we’re at the final season *tear* this Sunday, I wanted to go all out and do a whole feast! Whenever there’s food in the show, it always looks super decadent – which is what I tried to emulate in my feast below.

While I wanted it to look like a fancy, royal feast, I didn’t want to spend the time it takes to make that royal feast. Yup, this is all semi-homemade! No one wants to spend the whole day making food for a party, this will only take a couple of hours max – less if you don’t decide to make everything. This definitely feeds at least 4 people with several servings of leftovers.

THE MENU
- Roasted Parsley Chicken
- Direwolf Biscuits
- Dragon deviled eggs
- Roasted “Little Finger-ling” potatoes
- Roasted Rainbow Carrots
- Roasted asparagus Lannister spears
- Wildfire Jell-O
- Sansa’s Lemon Cakes
- Red Wedding Cake
ROASTED PARSLEY CHICKEN

This will be the easiest thing to make on this list – because it literally required zero effort. Other than going to the grocery store, that is. I always think of roasted hearty meats (think leg of lamb) when I picture a Game of Thrones feast, but I didn’t want go through the effort of making it or have all this meat to have to eat! So, I just bought a ready made Rotisserie Chicken from the closest grocery store (ranges from ~$5 to $10), sprinkled some chopped parsley on top, and used the carrot top greens around it for additional garnish. Zero effort AND zero waste! And then you can use the leftovers for sandwiches after. 🙂
DIREWOLF BISCUITS

I tried to replicate those animal shaped breads that Hot Pie made in the show for Arya. Except, I attempted with break and bake biscuit dough, like the kind you can get from Pillsbury in a roll. Surprisingly, it wasn’t a total fail! For the Direwolf, I rolled out the entire dough as one and then cut out the shape based on this stencil and baked it according to the package’s instructions. I would probably use a real bread dough if you want to make this in the future, but this is a decent alternative.
DRAGON DEVILED EGGS

These look like they took a lot of effort to make, but they really didn’t! You start of by boiling the eggs. Once their hard boiled, cool them down and then crack the shell layer but don’t peel them. In a zip-loc, put a couple of drops of food coloring (I mixed blue and green). Put the cracked egg in the zip-loc and roll it around in the bag so it gets an almost even coat of the food coloring. Repeat for all eggs, leave in the bag, then put them in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, take them out of the fridge, peel like normal, and it’ll have this cracked pattern! Cut each egg in half and scoop out the yokes. Mash the yokes together with some mayonnaise and mustard, then put the mixture back into each egg and sprinkle with paprika and (optional) dried parsley.
ROASTED “LITTLE FINGER-LING” POTATOES

Roasted potatoes are a classic at my house and so easy to make. I got little fingerling potatoes for this for the sake of the pun, but you can use any size. Cut the small potatoes in halves (or quarters if they’re larger), drizzle with oil, salt, and pepper. Roast them at 375 degrees and watch them periodically until they’ve cooked through; mine took about 15-18 minutes.
ROASTED RAINBOW CARROTS

I made roasted carrots a few weeks ago with a Hello Fresh order, and they tasted so good! I thought they’d be perfect for this feast and add an element of freshness to the mix. I got rainbow carrots with their greens on top, but you can select any kind. Cut each carrot down lengthwise, drizzle with oil, salt, and pepper and roast them at 375 degrees in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until cooked. I would definitely watch these because they’ll suddenly burn if you’re not careful. Again, so simple but so delicious! And it looks like you put so much effort hah.
ROASTED ASPARAGUS LANNISTER SPEARS

You know the drill by now – same roasting instructions for these guys, too! Except instead of salt and pepper, we used Trader Joe’s Everything Bagel seasoning – gave it so much flavor!
WILDFIRE JELL-O

After the chicken, this is the easiest thing to make. Simply pick up a box of lime Jell-O, follow the preparation instructions, and chill in the fridge according to the time instructed. I should’ve cooled them in cubed ice trays, but I just cut them into cubes and put them in the bowl to give it more dimension to look more like flames!
SANSA’S LEMON CAKES

I’ve made a version of this before, except they were lemon glazed donuts instead of cakes. In this case, these are lemon squares! And a mix from a box! These were Betty Crocker’s lemon squares, but any one will do. Simply prepare and bake according to the instructions and cut them into squares – or make them larger for bigger cakes.
RED VELVET WEDDING CAKE

This required a little more effort, even though it’s also a Red Velvet Cake box mix and store bought whipped cream frosting. Instead of baking it in a regular 9 inch pan, I divided the cakes into four 4 inch springform cake pans and baked according to the box’s instructions. Once completely cooked, I cut them so they were even (or rather my mom did because I can’t cut anything straight), and then spread the white frosting between each layer and on top. I topped it with white sprinkles on top – because snow, duh – and then this topper that was homemade and cut from our Cricut!

I hope this was helpful and you got some ideas and inspiration out of this post! I had so much fun cooking all of this up over a weekend, taking the photos, and then eating it all! It was so fun figuring out how to decorate the table, how each dish should look, and the background. Let me know if you have any thoughts in the comments!
