I live in the Bay Area and I like food.
October’s my favorite month - not just because of fall and Halloween, but because the month starts off with my birthday! My sister made me a terrazzo birthday cake. 🤗 and thankfully, it wasn’t a zoom celebration. I’m still a little bitter that I had to celebrate my 30th over zoom last year - I’m one of *those* people likes their birthday haha.
Thinking about Inklings Coffee & Tea in Pleasanton on National Coffee Day and how I've always liked the academia ~aesthetic~ before everything became an asethetic™. 📚 I loved that there were so many cozy book nooks where you could relax with a good book and cup of coffee! The dream.
Happy Friday!! You know what always sounds good? Donuts. 🍩 Especially fancy ones like from Bun Appetit because they always experiment with new flavors!
Some of the recent things my mom and my sister's been making at home because I didn't do that much lmao bc I'm just trying to get through the week. I keep meaning to post these to my story but then I get lazy. And tbh, I also feel weird posting about trivial things like food in light of current events. I should probably spend a little less time on the internet - and maybe some time brushing up on my photography skills. 😂
Currently: having Olympics withdrawals, drinking strong coffee and talking too much in my morning meetings, and trying not to think about the fact that the earth’s on fire. 🙃
Eid Mubarak!! ✨🐑 I feel like most people know about Eid al-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan, but there’s another Eid we celebrate called Eid al-Adha. This Eid both marks the end of Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) faithfulness to God after being tested with the unfulfilled command to sacrifice his son. Before Abraham could sacrifice his son, however, God provided a lamb to sacrifice instead. This is why you’ll see a lot of people use lamb and sheep emojis + memes during this Eid!
