Ketsourine Macarons (Daly City, CA) – Happy Valentine’s Day! I randomly found Ketsourine while Instagram browsing, and I was astonished to find that they have a huge following! And I can see why – they make such cute macarons and have a really cute shop! I was in the area one day for work, so I decided to stop by.
I will say that I found Ketsourine hard to find. The Westlake Center that it’s located in in Daly City is really annoying, tbh. There’s the first part that’s right next to the garage and then there’s a complex after it. I didn’t realize it was in the complex outdoors near Safeway. All of my map apps were not clear on that as well so I wasted, like, fifteen minutes walking around trying to find it. Also the parking was PACKED. But once I finally found it, it was smooth sailing.
Ketsourine is much smaller than I thought, but it’s super adorable when you walk inside. It looks like a great place to have a tea party, which is pretty clear as they have a wide selection of teas you can order (hot or iced). I believe that you can host events and birthday parties here, which seems like a really cute idea!
Ketsourine specializes in character macarons, such as Pokémon, but I’ve also seen Disney and Harry Potter characters as well! They have some main staple flavors, but they also change seasonally and according to the holiday. Each day they have different characters and flavors available, so I wouldn’t rely on the display case descriptions.
I ordered a six piece box of macarons, which cost me $13. Each one casts $2.25, and I like that I can purchase a character macaron in the set and it didn’t cost me extra. The girl behind the counter was friendly and patient when I was trying to make my decision, which I appreciate! I also noticed while I was making my purchase that they also sell gelato, so there are a variety of things to purchase.
I sat down to enjoy my macarons in their pretty, serene seating area. I ordered 6 flavors: red velvet, birthday cake, Jigglypuff (with pistachio filling but you can also get strawberry), hazelnut crunch, Andes mint, and pistachio.
The Jigglypuff one was so adorable I didn’t want to finish it! Each of the macarons were nice and crisp and I like that they’re generous with their filling. My personal favorites were the Andes Mint and the Hazelnut.
If you’re in the area, I think this is worth stopping by and checking out – just make sure to check . They’re really cute and tasty – and make for the perfect gift, especially on a day like Valentine’s Day!
