I was super excited that I RSVP’d in time for San Jose Creatives‘ Instagrammable Fall Blogger Brunch! It definitely helped me get into the fall mood. No lie, I get nervous before attending a media or social event where I actually get to meet people I follow on Instagram in real life – what if I’m super awkward (I probably was) or we have nothing to talk about? Those thoughts quickly disappeared because everyone at brunch was so chill and welcoming!
The Blogger Brunch was at a rooftop in Downtown San Jose and it had some nice views of the city! It’s crazy to see how much San Jose is developing. It actually ended up being warmer than anticipated, so we had a really nice space indoors where brunch was set up. The event organizers – Palm Trees & Pellegrino, City En Vogue, and Kaho’s Bar – really went all out in making it so cute!
This whole table setting was Instagram goals! Not only did Giulia of Palm Trees & Pellegrino go all out with the decor, they also cooked everything from scratch! We also had an in-house bartender mixing up drinks for everyone throughout the event, which was super cool. We’ve been following each other for a long time now, so it was great finally getting to meet him. There were also a couple of sponsors – one being Academic Coffee, who I’m a huge fan of! I actually had their cold brew with some milk without sugar, and it was super smooth!
The other two sponsors (Pomp & Whimsy and Chairman’s Reserve) provided the ~spirits~ for the cocktails- which I did not try, but everyone seemed to enjoy it!
Kaho also made me a mocktail version of the drink – which of course had Pumpkin in it! You can find the recipes for these Fall-inspired drinks on his Instagram here and here. Also, he’s crazy talented – he cut all of those maple leaf garnishes himself! If you’ve following me for awhile, you know I don’t drink, but I’m always inspired by his creativity which is how I started following him in the first place. 🙂
Once everyone got some coffee and drinks, we settled down to the table. The event organizers made sure to seat people with individuals they didn’t know very well, which was great because it broke up the possibility of people being cliquey and you get to make new friends! Loved the cute place settings for everyone as well.
Thankfully, they took people’s dietary restrictions into consideration so there was no pork on the menu! I really appreciated that. Besides the drinks and the mini fruit and yogurt parfaits above, we also had Grilled Asparagus, Baked French Toast, Sundried Tomato Pesto Quiche, Spinach Salad with Butternut Squash, Beets, and Feta, and a Harvest Spice Cheesecake (which was purchased from Costco). It was a great mix of sweet and savory – the quiche was great and so was that french toast! It was my favorite and sourdough bread was used for it – Alice of City En Vogue did an amazing job!
Once we were done eating, you know everyone had to go outside on the rooftop to take pictures. We also ended up getting locked out of the lounge area! 😂 We forgot to leave something in the door and the keys were inside – so we hung outside until the facilities folks came to rescue us. It’s all good though – it gave everyone a chance to get to know each other more! I look forward to the next event to catch up with all of the great people I met!
