I live in the Bay Area and I like food.
Very much looking forward to cooling off with leftover ice cream (unfortunately, not from Salt and Straw) in the freezer. 🍦 ☀️
Today was very much a Monday, even though it was a beautiful day (bracing myself for the heat wave). I wish I had this latte from @tonocoffeeproject to get through the start of the week! I finally had an opportunity to stop by last week when I was in the area - and I'm so glad I did. Their ordering window is so cute and so is the little courtyard space. Their drinks menu is super simple - with oat milk or without or get chocolate milk with coffee. I ordered a latte and salted chocolate chip cookie from @thepastrycat916 to go.
Thinking back to last weekend when I was so hungry I actually got both breakfast and lunch. 😌 Swipe to see my @horsefeather_sf brunch meal to go:
I was mostly trying to stay offline to enjoy the Eid weekend, so here's my final mithai board shot! I ended up switching out the background cloth, which made the colorful sweets pop. :) I'd probably just stick to nuts + mithai next time but this wasn't bad for a first attempt. 🍬
I probably say this every year, but I can't believe Ramadan is almost over - the month ends up flying by so fast. And since Eid is only a few days away, I had to share one of my top favorite Pakistani desserts: gajar (carrot) ka halva! 🥕 It's a really sweet carrot dessert that's soft, best when it's fresh and warm, and has that vibrant cardamom flavor.
One of the best parts of living in the Bay Area: the diversity in food. 🍴 After compiling this list - I realized I’ve only been to a fraction of the halal restaurants in the Bay. So, here are a few of my favorite halal spots and a few I hope to check out soon.
